Abstracts presented at the IDEA/KeraCon Congress 2016 in Colorado are now published online in the Dermatology Online Journal and appear in PubMed.
We thank the DOJ for this!
Journals should not consider published meeting abstracts prior publication-- so published meeting abstracts should not affect later article publication as long as you fully disclose:
"Previous publication of an abstract during the proceedings of meetings (in print or electronically) does not preclude subsequent submission for publication, but full disclosure should be made at the time of submission." --http://www.wame.org/about/recommendations-on-publication-ethics-policie#Originality
